I&#8217;ll be concise.<\/p>\n<p>1) It has so many characters that I got confused.  <\/p>\n<p>2) I found it very difficult to believe that a woman who spent 30 years working for the police would buy a child.  <\/p>\n<p>3) I didn&#8217;t like the rambling thoughts of characters in this book.  It was difficult to glean what was relevant.  I didn&#8217;t feel like I connected to any of the characters and got fed up of Jackson going on and on about his dead sister.  He&#8217;s done it throughout the series and it&#8217;s getting boring. <\/p>\n<p>In its defence, it&#8217;s fairly &#8216;readable&#8217;, just disappointing as I liked the first Jackson Brodie novel (Case Histories).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This was a book group choice.
